Classes
Please see below the details of our Summer Special 2013 classes. A Sizzling Suite of one day taster classes, celebrating drawing and printmaking, and making use of our glorious weather*. (*Please bring waterproof clothing, and if desired cushion, mat etc to sit on).
All of the classes in this programme are suitable for absolute beginners and no previous printmaking experience is necessary. They provide an effective way of dipping a toe into a printmaking technique before deciding if you would like to go on to do one of the Studio’s access courses. Classes suitable for adults and families. Minimum age 12.

Group Bookings
Highland Print Studio are also happy also schedule additional classes for groups. If you have a minimum of 6 participants, the Studio can arrange a class in a technique of your choice at a time to suit, just get in touch with us for more details.
Summer Specials
Snapshot Photoshop. 19 July 2013, Friday 10am - 4pm.
Head out around Inverness with your camera for some tuition and guidance on photography. Back at the Studio, learn a few simple Photoshop developing tools, which will enhance your images. Select your favourite image to be printed onto archival paper. Please bring a digital camera.

Sunshine on a Plate. 25 July 2013, Thursday 10am - 4pm.
An introduction into the wonders of solar plates. Learn how to draw onto transparencies and then expose the drawing onto polymer plates using the whimsy of the summer sun (suitable for thrill-seekers). Then hand-ink the plates and print with an etching press. The resulting plates will give your drawing a lovely oomph.

Etch A Sketch. 26 July 2013, Friday 10am - 4pm.
Learn line drawing techniques out and about in Invernesss. Then, back at the Studio, transfer your drawing onto a steel plate and then etch and print it by hand using traditional intaglio inks and press. This technique will produce prints with a lovely quality of line.

Woodcut Out and About. 8 August 2013, Thursday 10am - 4pm.
Treat woodcut like a sketchbook. Learn the basics of drawing and cutting on location in Inverness, before returning to the Studio to produce finished prints with a freshness and freedom in the mark-making that only a Highland summer can bring.

Discover how to create stencils for screenprinting with simple drawing techniques and materials en plein air. Back at the Studio, expose images onto screens and develop up to produce lively and vibrant prints.
