Education & Outreach

The Studio works with people ranging from complete beginners to professional artists, as well as schools and community groups. We provide educational activities, both here in the Studio and in the community, that range from taster sessions to large-scale projects and residencies.

Individuals

The Studio offers regular induction classes in a variety of techniques including relief printing, screenprinting, etching and digital imaging. On successful completion of an induction class, participants can then use that area of the Studio to carry on developing their own artwork. Please see ‘Classes’ for our current programme. One-to-one tuition is also available.

Schools

The Studio has worked with primary and secondary schools throughout the Highlands, providing one-off workshops to projects lasting a whole term. Please see ‘Past Projects’ for some examples.

The Studio has also provided workshops in a variety of techniques to assist in portfolio development for pupils applying to art school and Continuing Professional Development for teachers.

Community Groups

Highland Print Studio is particularly interested in encouraging new audiences to participate in the arts and people who struggle to access opportunities perhaps due to disability or social barriers. In the past the Studio has provided artists to work with, for example, older peoples groups, people with learning disabilities or poor mental health.
